WHY YOU NEED QUALITY WEB CONTENT
The web content you own (page copy, blog articles, images, video, and audio) is your most valuable business asset that represents your brand on the internet.
What do you need to watch out for?
People quickly leave websites that present them with an unsatisfactory experience, then they tell others about it on public reviews, and social media. These negatives are often the result of encountering web content writing that’s full of mistakes, bad formatting, and irrelevant information. As well, the main search engine, Google, is increasingly evaluating relevance and quality at the site level, including content quality, user experience (UX), disruptive advertising, and technical problems. So, website owners ignore the importance of content quality at their peril.
The good news is that we can help you get the content on your site just right.
Do you just need basic content written for your site?
Don’t have the time to do it yourself, and not quite sure how to go about it? Web content writing is a specialised technical writing skill. To be effective, it must be combined with a sound understanding of how websites and the internet function, and how to get the necessary information from you and your team to make the effort worthwhile.
If you’re a web design company, we have a track record for working seamlessly with designers and developers. We can provide web content writing and SEO services that are cost effective, and which target your customers’ customers.
Our basic package for web content writing will help you create your page list and navigation, then populate the pages with good, clean plain English copy that helps visitors to your site get exactly the solutions they’re looking for. User-friendliness is the goal. Nice and simple, job done. Drop us a line if this is what you’re looking for.
Do you need your products to be found in internet searches?
Pretty words on their own are a waste of your time and money if no one can find your products and services on the internet or figure out how to use your website.
People find information on the internet by researching extensively on Google, YouTube, Facebook, and other search engines. Websites that rank highly in search results for customer queries attract far more business than those that don’t.
The most effective way to achieve consistently high, sustainable rankings in search results is through search engine optimisation (SEO).
Effective SEO depends on high-quality web content:
Search engines are much more focused on quality content, solving problems, and natural keyword usage with variations.”

We write influential content and optimise websites
SEO best practice is about more than just finding keywords and entering them in title tags. Getting a return on your investment requires a team effort to tune your website and its content so everything is focused on the user experience. It involves technical areas such as website design, architecture, and functionality. It includes a well-researched keyword strategy that also recognises buyer intent by providing answers to customer queries on each page.
The bottom line is to make sure that you’re meeting genuine customer needs, and solving legitimate business challenges. We’ll partner with you to get you noticed by your customers, and to build sustainable traffic and conversions.
Our tried and tested recommendation for effective SEO content includes:
- Thoroughly understand the identity and needs of your target audience, and how your products help them.
- Identify the terms your customers use to search for answers to their problems.
- Keeping an eye on what your competitors are up to.
- A website with user-friendly design and page navigation, especially on mobile devices.
- Well organised, substantial, quality web content that provides real value to your site visitors.
- Local search optimisation, including Google products (more emphasis on being found).
- Hook up to analytics tools so you know what’s working, and how this relates to your goals.
Ranking in Google will come automatically if your website is of extremely high quality.”
While most of our SEO work is part of new website development, we do have a process for helping people with existing sites to improve their rankings and site traffic by refreshing the SEO. We get a number of enquiries from owners who have had unsatisfactory experiences with SEO companies. Our reputation is built on providing trustworthy advice, so we will tell you straight what we think is the best course of action. Another word of warning (not trying to put you off or anything!) – when we assess an existing site to see what needs to be done, we do frequently uncover technical issues that also need to be fixed.
Web content writing testimonials
“I recently decided about updating my website due to it having a lot of pages and it was a custom-built site. After sending Alex my website he was happy to take on the challenge. The marketing department from which I purchase my products offered to design and have some input. Alex did a fantastic job with every part of the new website, and also helped with other parts by way of his contacts to complete the final launch. I would have no hesitation in recommending his expertise to friends and colleagues of mine.”
Do you want to market your content?
The top-quality content on your website can be placed in front of your audience when, where, and how they most require it. We liken this to a content factory. It’s aimed at increasing traffic and leads.
Content marketing at its most basic, involves blogging on a website and distributing this on social media. It’s proven to be a highly effective strategy for our clients. We specialise in authoring blogs (such as here for example) and marketing on social platforms.
Here’s what US boutique meat company Nebraska Bison said about this winning “content factory” approach:
… we have doubled our total traffic through content marketing and our blog. We’ve created and posted a number of recipes on our website which are curated and promoted through our blog and on social media … We have a number of blog posts that now rank very high for our keywords. Our traffic and sales have increased greatly in 2014 after a heavy focus in 2013 on these recipes and content marketing.
“By focusing our content strategy on questions people have about our product (i.e. ‘How do I cook it?’ ‘What are the benefits?’) we show up on the first page for keywords we struggled to reach before and build trust in our customers and potential customers.”
A tip from us
Post an image, up to 300 words of text, and a page link to your website, on Google My Business’s post feature. These are displayed prominently in the right-hand side “knowledge panel” that appears when someone searches for your business name on Google. Ensure that Google can display your business information in a knowledge panel in the first place. This is achieved with good local search optimisation, and using structured markups (schema) on your website.
